Karyna M. Neyra, MD
Dr. Karyna Neyra received her medical training at Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Lima, Peru. She completed her Internal Medicine residency in Hackensack UMC Mountainside in Montclair, New Jersey where she was Chief Resident. Dr. Neyra completed her fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio where she received extended training in infections in solid organ and bone marrow transplant recipients. Additionally, she received specialized training at the Research Institute of Tropical Medicine in the Philippines.
Dr. Neyra is board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. She is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the American Society of Transplantation. She is currently an attending physician at Saint Barnabas Medical Center.
Her professional areas of interest include antimicrobial resistance, fungal infections and infections in immunocompromised hosts particularly transplant recipients.
Dr. Neyra is fluent in English and Spanish.
